Reading PALS

“Poor academic outcomes, increased problem behaviors, higher probability of dropping out of school, limited employment opportunities, and a higher likelihood of living in poverty are all more likely to result following failure to acquire literacy skills in the early elementary grades.”

By volunteering just one hour a week, you can make a difference in a child’s life!  Each volunteer Reading PAL (Partners and Literacy Support) will be matched with an individual student and will be expected to attend weekly for breakfast or lunch and a reading session. Reading PALS will serve as mentors at one of the following locations:

  1. Clark Elementary Monday's Lunch
    Concord Elementary Thursdays 12:30-1:00 PM
    Hendron Lone Oak Elementary Wednesday's 8:00-8:30 AM
    Lone Oak Elementary Tuesday's 8:20-8:50 AM
    Lone Oak Intermediate Mondays Lunch
    McNabb Elementary Tuesday's Lunch
    Morgan Elementary Tuesday's Lunch
    Paducah Middle School Thursday's Lunch
    Reidland Elementary Tuesday's 8:10-8:30 AM
    Reidland Intermediate Tuesday's 8:15-8:45 AM
    Reidland Middle Monday's 12:30-1:00 PM
