
McCracken County has been awarded federal funds through the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. McCracken County will receive $20,480 for Phase 39 to supplement food and shelter programs and $63,298 from ARPA-R as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. A local board of representatives from the United Way, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, local government, local non-profits, and faith-based organizations will determine how funds will be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area. Under terms of the grant, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be a private voluntary nonprofit or unit government 2) be eligible to receive federal funds 3) have an accounting system 4) practice nondiscrimination 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver the emergency food and shelter 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply by completing the application below. The deadline is February 21, 2022.
